Kupalovsky Park
This romantic park for walks is one of the most picturesque places in Minsk. Quaint compositions of wood and meadow flowers decorate the park's glades and hills. Beautiful Belarussian nature, memory of the great poet of the country Yanka Kupala, legends and traditions of the summer folklore feast "Kupalye" found harmonic correlation in the park's appearance.
The Children's Gorky Park
This is the oldest park of Minsk city. One of the biggest and the most picturesque parks in Belarus, central Gorky's park boasts with decorative groups of centenary lindens and maples, weeping willows, birch alleys, exotic kinds of trees. The park can be easily recognized by a silhouette of the Ferris wheel rising over the trees. The attraction can reach the height of 54 metres, from where you can enjoy the panorama of the Belarusian capital. Entertainment and different leisure activities such as tennis court, stadium, skating-rink, fitness centre, children's attractions, planetarium (see below), cafes are located in the park.
The Victory Monument Address: Victory Square The Victory monument in the center of Victory Square was erected in 1954 in honour of the victory of the soviet people over the fascist Germany and in commemoration of fighing men of the Soviet Army and partisans who fell during the Great Patriotic War. In the underground passage under the Victory Square there is the Hall of the memorial Glory of Heroes. It is dedicated to the memory of the heroes killed in battles of the Great Patriotic War. The Glory Wreath made of coloured glass is in the center of the hall. It is illuminated from inside resembling the sheen of the Eternal Fire - a symbol of memory. A Bronze image of the Golden Star of the Hero of the Soviet Union - the highest award of the Soviet country - can also be seen here. 566 names of the heroes who received this award, natives of Belarus as well as soldiers of various nationalities who showed heroism on the Belarusian land during the first days and during the liberation of Belarus in 1944, have been immortalized on the bronze plates next to the Golden Star.
Art Gallery "The Palace of Arts" Address: Kozlova str. 3 Vast halls located on two levels present the works of famous national painters and youngs masters. Thematic exhibitions and international artistic projects take place in the commodious premises of the palace.
The Belarusian State Circus Address: Nezavisimosti ave. 32 A circular building under a dome owned by the circus is situated on the crossroad of Nezavisimosti avenue and Kupaly street. The Belarusian State Museum of the History of the Great Patriotic War Address: Nezavisimosti ave. 25a
The museum exhibits the biggest world's collection of historical monuments of 1941 - 1945: photos and documents, specimens of firearms and cold steel (including the self-made ones), combat flags, uniforms of servicemen, personal goods, awards of hero patriots, anti-fascist newspapers and leaflets issued in the occupied Belarus, a collection of paintings and works of decorative and applied art. The Palace of the Republic Address: Octyabrskaya Square 1 The Palace of the Republic is the biggest concert and entertaining construction in Minsk. Concert halls, cafes, bars, restaurants, an art gallery (see below) are situated in the Palace's premises.
